After upgrading the RAM and going over to SSD, I’ve now got a black screen. I power up hear the ‘chimes’ and the fan starts but only three of the internal LED lights come on when I part attach the screen. I’ve connected the old hard drive and press ‘command’ and ‘r’ whilst holding the power button but nothing comes up on the screen. Any suggestions??

Did you follow the iFixit guide to the letter? Did you use the correct tools to take the display off? I fear you have damaged the display in the process.
I would try an external display to see if that works, if it does then you know.

Thank you, I did follow and use correct tools. I’m trying to get hold of an external display so hopefully that’ll work!
