My tv went black but has sound what’s wrong

I have the same problem with a Philips TV, less than 12 months old. It has no on/off switch, only a remote When I switch it on from standby, the Philips icon comes on at normal brightness, then the screen goes black. That suggests to me that a setting is responsible. The Settings menu is not visible, and I can’t see an obvious brightness control. The flashlight test, with new batteries, is negative.

Hi,

The setting menus should be visible and available when the TV is turned on.The settings within the setting menu can turn off/on features but not the settings menu itself

Since it is less than 12 months old, contact the manufacturer’s customer service section as per the warranty statement that came with the TV (or is in the user manual) as to how to make a claim for a manufacturer’s warranty repair or replacement.

Do not open the TV yourself to try and fix it as this will void the warranty.
