Replaced battery but still wont charge

I have successfully replaced the battery and my laptop was working great, but when i plug in the power chord to the laptop it wont take a charge, the little green/orange light doesn’t come on and battery won’t charge.

what else could be going on to prevent the computer from charging other than a poor battery?
