What is this chip by the lvds connector a1502 early 2015 MacBook Pro.
I bought this MacBook Pro 13” early 2015 with a screen that looks like a bad TV channel with interference. Could this chip by the lvds connector be the cause? It’s damaged. I have another late 2013 a1502 with a similar chip. Is that compatible?
Update (09/29/2020)
this is what the screen looks like. The seller said it just stopped working. When I opened the case I noticed the damaged chip.

What does an external monitor show you?
This is tricky! If the video signal is messed up on the HDMI port and the Thunderbolt/DP ports (check both) then the issue is within the logic board.
If its clean on the external display on all the ports the internal displays T-CON logic is damaged which is part of the display assembly.

The output to the HDMI was pretty much blank. Probably not worth fixing this one. The kid said it worked fine hooked up with the HDMI. I thought it might have been as simple as a lvds cable. Buying broken laptops is always a risk.
