DVD player ejects on its own

I could not find a more narrow category for this device, so I had to list it as a media player. The Panasonic DVD player randomly ejects on its own, and often stays open until the “Close” button has been pressed on the remote, since the buttons on the player don’t work. Also, the tray may close when opened, or rapidly open and close, usually displaying “TRAY Error“ on the screen for an extremely brief period of time while this happens. I would like to hear if there is a fix for this problem. Thank you!
