My 3ds seems to be stuck in sleep mode.

When I turn my 3DS on, the screens light up and the blue light appears, but the screens remain blank. I believe it might have something to do with the magnet that controls sleep mode. (Not sure if that is real I just heard about it recently) I have tried to access the wifi thing whatever its called but I cannot find it and in order to find it i would probably have to break other parts. I have tried the L + R + A + D-Pad Up to start a system update, but since I moved the wifi is different, therefore system updates won’t work unless I can find a place where I had the wifi password saved.
