Replacing my EMC 2638. We need the documents we saved to the desktop.
Are the documents we saved to desktop still available to us…? The SSD still works.

If the system is still working all you need to do is take a TimeMachine backup to then use to restore onto your new system.
As an alternative you can also restore directly from your system using Target Disk Mode using a Thunderbolt cable between the two systems. This is by far the fastest way! Understanding the Applications for Target Disk Mode
If the system is not working then its possible to take the SSD out of the system and place it into a special case to then connect to your new system OWC Envoy Pro SSD Case. Its a bit of work to get it out iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2638 Blade SSD Replacement

Danj... I was mistaken... I have a SATA HHD... Can I remove the HHD and transfer the data on it on to the new system’s HHD...?
