No backlight. LCD and sound functional

Hi all. I have a Panasonic Viera TH-L55DT5. When I power it up, the sound and LCD work fine, but the backlight (of led strips) doesn't light up at all. I have opened the back and checked the voltage on the PSU to the best of my ability, and it appears to be over 5 volts to the main board and around 2 to the inverter board. I'm not sure if I'm checking in the right places, though.

There's no visible damage to the boards, although I'm not sure how to check capacitors. I've ordered a better multimeter which should arrive today.

I started taking apart the panel to test the LED strips, but stopped when I realised what an undertaking that was going to be.

Is there a way I can work out if one of the boards is faulty?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
