Backlight comes on only sometimes.

I originally swapped a new screen onto my iPhone 6s, and it looked like my backlight blew. After about an hour, I pressed the lock button and the screen came on and it’s worked ever since. Today, I unplugged and even removed the battery from the phone, and then unplugged its screen, and I am again getting the same dark image. Can somebody help me out here?
