Seems like I got the wrong tri-point screw in my battery repair kit?

I just bought the “ iPhone 7 Battery ” -kit and started the repair. When reaching step 12 in the repair guide (iPhone 7 Battery Replacement) I noticed that I can’t get the tri-point screws out, Y000 is the one that I got but it’s doesn’t seem to fit. They must have delivered the wrong tri-point tool? I enter model number etc. before buying the kit so it should be correct. What is the right size?

Please help me, I’m stuck.

What do you mean by "it’s doesn’t seem to fit" ? Head too big, too small, different shape ? Trilobe are flat shaped screw holes unlike philips. Would recommend using a magnifier and good light to find out what the issue is..anybody can make mistakes but a trilobe screw driver is a bit hard to be mixed with anything else and all tri-winged screws in an iPhone require the same driver.

@arbaman Head is too small/too pointy. It should be a tri-pointed head. I guess it’s something else then Y000, maybe Y00 or Y0?

In the instruction video they even mention that Apple have changed those screws but that iFixIt have the right head. If this screw were changed the tri-point head that I got must be old size, or iFixIt changed the tool but the screws are the old type, I don’t know?

@mschaerstrom The Y000 is the smallest of all, Y00 and Yo are bigger. I believe iFixit info referred to the fact that in the iP7 they changed some screws to tri-wing that weren't there in previous iPhones, but the size just stayed the same. No idea what could be wrong but if it's just is a bit pointy you may try to sand and flatten the tip. Or contact customer service for a new one.

Y000 should work. I've used them to take out the metal plates on iP7 and iP7 Plus too. It's not the best for it but it is still good to use.
