Why is it safe to connect the LCD "live"?
I've learned the hard way that, no matter what device you work with, you should disconnect the battery (and the charger) before (dis)connecting a LCD! I've had many LCD's or backlight components dying because I broke this rule.
How come it's not necessary with the iPad Air?
Esta é uma boa pergunta?

Hi @faloude ,
Where did you come across this information?
Step.35 in the ifixit iPad Air LTE LCD Replacement guide says to isolate the battery before disconnecting the LCD when going to remove it.
Presumably when you go to replace the LCD, the isolation pick is still in place.

Ah I didn't consult that guide. I encountered several other guides (articles across the web and youtube) from people not disconnecting the battery before replacing the LCD.
