Has anyone had any issues after screen replacement

I fix phones as a side business for friends and coworkers. A coworker broke his XS max and this will be the first model other than a 7 or an 8 I've done. Are there issues with touch ID or home buttons, or anything for that matter I should know about and advise him on before repairing.

I think it is a hit or miss on these. I have got one max refurbished test screen which I haven’t had a problem with. You won’t have to worry about touch ID or home button, remember the touch ID is now face recognition. Be extremely careful when transferring the top flex assembly over. A tiny tear in the flex will disable face ID and you will need to book an appointment with apple to have them replace the screen. Try and research the vendor you are purchasing the screen off and see if there are any reported issues.

Well from my experience, certain aftermarket displays the touch doesnt work. That happens because the displays are calibrated by a machine that we don’t have access to. You basically just have to go through displays and see what works and what doesn’t. Good luck with repairs!

@wadey89 here’s a pretty big issue, for one:

I run my own tech repair business and I finally stopped offering mobile screen replacements because Apple is fighting against us and I’d much rather service laptops and desktops. Better profits, more rewarding, and more fulfilling.

Is this an issue in the iphone 10 with the 13.1 update or just iPhone 11

that's a great question which I don't know the answer to. I think it's iOS related but sooner or later all iPhones will be affected by aftermarket screens.
