Why won't my kindle charge?
I have tried several different charging wires but my almost new kindle won't charge. Can this be repaired?

What’s the amperage of the base you are using? Many cheaper charging bases, especially ones bundles with phones and smartwatches only supply 250-500mA, but tablets and other large devices may require 1-2A (1000-2000mA) to charge properly.

Does the cable wiggle up and down when plugged in? Charging port failure is very common for Kindles. The replacement process unfortunately isn’t easy either. If you do not have the tools or experience I recommend taking it to a local repair shop that supports soldered charging port repairs.

It seems secure. It's more like it can't make contact. And to add "insult to injury" no one seems to be willing or able to fix it. Amazon is useless.
It's possible that the tablet is disguising a charging issue as a software problem. Try to plug in the kindle, and hold the POWER and VOL DOWN buttons together for 10-15 seconds. This will simulate taking the battery out which resolves a lot of weird power issues.
Some kindles have weird battery problems too which will require a low amp charge before it'll turn back on. Try leaving the device charging on a computer USB port for 8 hours and then do this button reset again.
If these don't work, then you are definitely looking at some type of hardware problem and the device will need service.
