the sound will just stop . Picture stays. Last night stopping after about 30 minutes of watching. The only fix is to turn off the TV . Wait a bit and then turn it back on.
Software is updated -

@pmcleod try an external speaker/soundbar/headphones and see if that makes a difference. Since you already updated the software etc. It is possible that this is an audio IC issue on the main board. Try a local input source like a DVD or BR to see if that works better. If so you need to check your video in source like cable box or sat receiver etc.
