Does the MacBook Pro 13" Unibody 2011 logic board fits with mine?

I have a mid 2009 macbook pro 13", I really want the thunder bolt function, I want to change the logic board seems it does not cost a lot, so would it be possible?

I'm not sure if they fit, but may I ask why you want Thunderbolt so badly right now? By the time Thunderbolt is widely used you're going to want a new machine altogether. Also, a logic board isn't a cheap part. You might as well just save the $650 you would spend and put it towards a new computer once Thunderbolt is popular and appears on every machine.

The logic board won't fit because the new ones don't have a separate graphics processor. Since they have the Intel HD Graphics 3000, the graphics processing is done inside the actual Intel i7 chip. Your current heatsink won't properly mount to the board. Sorry! :(

Besides, the cost and difficulty of obtaining a 2011 MacBook Pro logic board would be so monumental, you might as well forget the trouble of installing and disposing of your old board and just buy a new MBP.

Why would he need to use the same heatsink from the 2009 board ? Why not just use the correct heatsink for the 2011 board ? If the 2011 board will fit in the 2009 case once fully assembled and the battery, LCD, optical, and HD are all the same why wouldnt it work ?

In regards to the LVDS issue why not just use the proper 2011 display ?

What I'm saying is install a 2011 board in a 2009 case with a 2011 LCD.

@tim did you ever try this or find anything else about this? I think I'm giving it a shot. Only thing that doesn't look like it will work, is the iSight, which I'm not too concerned about.
