I dropped my Macbook on the wooden floor (closed, facing upside-down) and now there’s an entire vertical block in the middle of my screen that’s discolored, flickering, distorted, and the color distortion changes as the underlying image changes (see video link below). What do you think the problem is, and how should I fix it? Thank you so much!

You’ll need to get the screen replaced. Unfortunately there’s no cheap way around it.

Any sort of vertical line artifacting appearing on the screen after a drop are caused by shock to the screen display. Once the screen display is damaged as a result of that the screen will need to be replaced.
