Display not working after logic board replacment

I recently replaced the logic board of my Macbook Unibody A1342, but now when I go to turn it on the display dosen’t work. The first time I turned it on after replacing the logic board, it worked fine. The second time I turned it on, it showed some black bars. I simply turned it off, unplugged the batttery, and pushed the display connector in further. It worked after that, but after turning it off and back on, the display shows nothing. The fan is still running and if you leave it plugged in just sitting around for a while the fan does emit heat from the CPU.

Answer this question I have this problem too

An adapter to an external monitor or Tv would be needed to get confirmation the graphics are in working order. You can also try to shine a bright light to the screen to have an indication of a lack of image or backlight. However if you can do both trials you’ll have better hints.

Ok. I'm going to try both of those. Would a phone flashlight be bright enough, or do I need something seriously bright?

The logic board I bought said "pulled from a working machine," so it's probably not the graphics.

Can't see anything with a flashlight, so it's probably a display problem (unless the sellers lied about the logic board)

by

@conzo A phone flashlight will certainly do, just do it in a shadowed or darker environment.

by

@arbaman Ok! I'll try again when it's darker.
