My Cusinart DCC-1200: brewed coffee isn't flowing into the carafe

I add my coffee ground in the filter basket holder, add water in the reservoir then flipped the switch to the ON position. In a short few seconds normally the hot water coffee mixture will begin draining into the carafe. However, nothing happens.

I verified that the coffee maker is plugged into an active ac outlet, the clock on the Cusinart is set to the current time, the function knob is set to Auto On, and the On and Auto Indicator Light lights up.

Power off and Unplug unit. Next try and Check nozzle for blockage between exit of filter and entrance of coffee pot. Make sure lids and all moving parts are closed and secured. Hope this helps usually something small that was overlooked if device was working normal before interruption.

Stated “auto on” knob position? If you are trying to make coffee NOT at the preset “auto on” time, turn knob to BREW, then move switch up to “ON”. Light above on switch should light.

(I watch for the “ON" or “AUTO ON” LIGHTS - as a “reminder” when starting coffee. Sometimes I want coffee now, but it's in the “AUTO ON" or other position. The light to the left will light for “auto on”, instead of the “brew” position with light directly above the “on switch” lighting. This can happen when wiping the outside or someone used the auto on function.

If it's in “auto on" and NOT making coffee, try unplugging it for a few minutes. Plug it back in and reset the time and auto on time.

UPDATE: My Cusinart only moved a few cups of water, then stopped moving any water. See the surprising cause, my solution and easy, no tools, no parts, simple and free repair below.

(I hope my answer helps many Cusinart owner's with this common problem and making coffee again quickly!)

Hi,

I just fixed that same problem on mine! No tools or parts.

Just vinegar and a new filter in the filter holder after CLEANING.

Someone had spilled coffee grounds into the reservoir.

I lifted out the water filter holder, (lifts out on the left side of machine, looks like a ladder), it was clogged. I cleaned as many grounds out as I could.

Use a flashlight to look on both sides for ANYTHING that might block the water flow. (Coffee grounds, a piece of paper towel, a dead cockroach, a kids toy, etc.)

I rinsed the filter and filter holder and replaced it. Then, put a paper coffee filter in the filter holder, (no coffee) and ran VINEGAR and WATER on the CLEAN cycle to remove any scale or grounds from it. [To Clean: push “clean" button and the switch up to “ON" position.]

It pumped ALL of the vinegar and water. Since mine had coffee grounds in it, I did it twice. Then, clean water to rinse it. I put a NEW filter in the filter holder and replaced it on the left side. It was ready to make coffee.

It works great and the delicious, hot coffee was my reward - for a JOB well done!

Try this first, it seems to take very little DEBRIS, to plug the water inlet and stop the water flow. I hope this helps everyone with coffee makers not moving water.
