Razer Blade Stealth (2018) Microphone feedback into speakers

Recently, I fell asleep with my 2018 Razer Blade Stealth Gunmetal laptop half open. In other words the angle between the screen and the keyboard was something like 30 degrees.

When I woke up about 4 hours later, my screen was laying on top of my keyboard but the back of the laptop was still in the same position. I noticed that the back of the screen was sticky and I guessed that was how the screen was held in place. Then I put the screen back in place.

After this was over I noticed a few things,

  1. The screen in the bottom right hand portion was cracked where the time and date appear in Windows 10. My guess is that this was where the screen gave way and fell to the keyboard.
  2. The internal microphone does not work any more. When I tried to test the internal microphone out the computer does not register any sound.
  3. If I do not plug in a pair of head phones in the audio jack the internal microphone picks up any noise and plays that through the speakers creating a feedback loop.
  4. The light next to the webcam does not light up when the webcam is in use. However, the webcam does work fine.

If you know what is going on with my laptop, I would like to know what I could do since I have never heard of anyone having a problem like this.

Might want to right click on Start icon -> Settings -> Sound

Adjust/disable sound devices from there

PS Pretty bizarre thing to happen. Guess you've checked to see if the unit is still under warranty or not? Might also want to check the manufacturer's web site and see if there was any kind of "recall" on that unit
