iPhone 6 wiggly home button

I've purchased an iPhone 6 that had a wiggly home button. It was loose to he point that touch ID didn't work at all - putting your finger on the sensor didn't do anything. I used double sided tape on the part of the screen where the home button gasket goes o try and make it stick better, but even though it was noticebly less loose and I could actually get through the touch ID setup, when I tested it when the phone was locked it didn't work at all no longer how many positions I put my finger in. Is there anything I can buy in order to make the button like new? Like adhesive or a gasket that comes with adhesive pre-applied. any help is appreciated.

This is the Home Button Gasket. They can be tricky to install so I would order two just in case. With all do respect to iFixit and their quality parts and support, you may find this part at a much more appealing price elsewhere without sacrificing too much on quality…it’s just a rubber gasket after all :>).

@refectio I've already tried buying gaskets from the website I usually buy screens from but they don't have any adhesive

The gasket is supposed to have adhesive, otherwise there is no point. There is usually a blue film over the adhesive.

From the iFixit website:

DESCRIPTION

Replace a torn or loose gasket between the home button face and the inside of an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus display assembly. The gasket includes adhesive to adhere to the home button assembly and to the inside of the display assembly.
