My 3ds xl power button not responding to motherboard.

Hello, And thank you for your time.

When I connect my AC adapter the orange light comes on, but when I remove the battery it shuts off after a few seconds. I press the power button, no response, I press the combo to go into safety mode, doesn’t work. I reinserted the sd card, no response. I opened the back panel, and found the problem. The left piece of the motherboard, located under the R button, were the lights are, I found the power button, traced it’s circuitry, and found that there’s a little brown circle, next to the thick ribbon. I think it might be a short circuit or the power button can’t reach the motherboard.
