Why won't my 3DS turn on?

So i’ve had a 3DS for around 2 years now and nothing like this has happened before. I pressed the power button, and the blue light come on. About 3 seconds later, I hear a popping sound and the the light turn off. After many attempts, it turned on about 3 times. HOWEVER, when the top screen turns on, the entire top half is black, literally just dead! The bottom half is fine. I don’t know why this is happening or how to fix this. If anyone could help, that would be great!
