Only my broken lcd screen works with my phone

My screen cracked (as ususal..) and I bought a replacement screen. A really nice black lcd 6S display.

But when I replaced the screen the phone would not boot at all.

I thought the screen was damaged but I have tested 10 other screens and none of them works.

The only screen that my phone boots with is the broken display.

And it is quite weird becuase this broken lcd display is not the original, I replaced the original screen 1 year ago.

I have searched on google, opened up some displays down to the lcd screen itself and tried to switch contacts and backlights etc to no avail..

I tought that if I would just try and switch everything except the backlight on the broken screen than it could work but that has been proven to be very difficult.

Unfortunately, I have stripped the broken screen down to just the transparent lcd display itself so I cannot really see anything on the phone (now I am using an hdmi adapter..).

This is a problem I would like to get a more understanding about.

What I do know is that there was some smoke coming out from the phone 5 months ago, I took out the battery and replaced it and the phone has worked perfect since then.

The only conclusion I can make of this is that the screens “id” has somehow been burnt into a chip and that the phone does not accept any other screen but the broken one?

But last time I checked the phone does not even know what screen is where and when apple did that update to prevent thirdparty screens they just made a function so if the “touch id” did not work the touch would stop working on the screen.

The screen itself does not seem to have an actual “ID”.

TLDR;

Why can’t I use any other screen than the broken one? The broken screen is not the original screen and it was replaced a year ago.

My conclusion is that the broken screen has somehow been “burnt” into the board and that the phone does not accept any other display. Which sounds crazy now when I think about it but I have no other ideas of what this could be.

Keep in mind that I would be greatly appreciated if I could get this phone working since I just replaced almost everything in the phone.. (cameras, sensors, battery etc…)

I even made it able to charge using induction charging from “Strange Parts” on youtube.

Could you take a picture of one of your replacement screens and the original screens, also a clear picture of the screen connector?

Here is a guide on how to add images to an existing answer.

Adding images to an existing answer

If the initial screen that is on the phone only works and not the replacement ones. This can mean a few things, damaged screen connector. Incompatible screen due to wrong replacement screen model used (e.g iPhone 6 screen on iPhone 6s)

I haven’t encountered this problem before which is really strange. You might want to take your phone to a local reputable repair store and see if they can get one of their replacement screens working on your phone.
