Appears that camera connection to thermal plate is missing

I have ordered this screen from Ifixit before, so this is the second replacement part. It should be the exact same, however, I noticed that the camera is supposed to be connected to the thermal plate via a black square of protective copper tape, from what youtube tells me anyway. On my new part, this connection is completely missing, and it looks like the wire is covered with electrical tape. Do I need this connection? Should I try and send the part back for this? I dont want to install and test it because I am afraid it might fry my phone.
