Why is my ps4 auto ejecting the disc during gameplay?

While playing some serious game, my ps4 automatically ejects the disk which leads to stoppage of game and all the fun comes to a dead end. I've tried tightening the screws as shown on youtube tutorials, it somewhat works but at the end of the day it happens again!

Any permanent solution to this problem? If do then please reply!

Thank you!

Usually it’s dust near the eject button this is most likely a PS4 that has the touch sensitive buttons and not the physical click ones that are prone to this problem.

Otherwise the bottom cover would need to be replaced.

Since there isn’t a guide for removing just the bottom panel follow this guide up to step 4 to reveal the eject button metal spring: PlayStation 4 Power Supply Replacement

I realize this is an old post but I'm still gonna give an answer just in case ANYONE out there may need help. I have also dealt with the same problem for a long time now with my PS4 (the original ps4, not the slim or the pro) with the touch sensitive buttons (the ones kinda like a touch screen) I have recently resorted to just taking it to a friend's house who has internet, unlike myself, to purchase digital games so it wouldn't interrupt my gaming.

But I have heard of 2 different solutions that may work.

  1. Removing the little rubber foot thing on the bottom, front of the playstation in the center underneath the eject sensor button. Apparently, over time the rubber can swell, become warped, pushed too far in, etc... and may cause the eject button to often randomly engage and eject discs or constantly beep when empty. Not sure if it actually works to remove it but I'm trying for myself right now as I'm typing so hopefully it's that simple because option 2 can be a scary pain in the ass. But so far so good. Its been 30 minutes without any beeping or ejecting so far.
  2. This solution is seemingly ALMOST guaranteed to work, but to be fair, I'm not any kind of expert on game consoles or electronics. But I seen a video tutorial on YouTube that shows how to completely disengage the disc eject sensor making the only way to eject a disc is by using your controller (which is what I prefer anyway) It takes a couple special tools though, like a special Torx screwdriver that I don't have. Also along with being careful and taking apart the playstation. This method will void any warranties you may have on the console. I haven't tried this method myself yet because I dont have the tool for it but I will buy the torx bit and try it as a last resort if option 1 doesn't work for me.
  3. Here is a link to the video tutorial for option 2: https://youtu.be/BB1RHi8HojY

I truly hope this helps someone/anyone stop suffering the pain of mid game disc ejects like so many of us have went through.
