The keyboard cable where it connects to the logic board,the locking clip is broken and I guess the the cable with out the clip putting the right connect will not allow typing although the mouse woks fine!! This is a mac that I have been looking to refirb. Thanks Wayne B

I'd try using some Kapton tape to secure it in place.

I have found that a very thin clear peice of plastic, like the kind you will find on battery sale packs, will work. You need to cut out the flatest part of the plastic and also cut it to size for the width of the cable. Be sure it will fit between the holder and the lodgic board. Now insert the keyboard ribbon cable and push the clear plastic under the cable, between the logicboard and the cable. It will fit very sngly, then tape it in place.
