MBP refuses to boot from a specific SSD, that works otherwise
Hi all, dealing with a really weird issue trying to SSD swap a mid-2012 13in Macbook Pro. I've done dozens of these at this point, and this is the first time I've run in to any issues.
I used Macrium Reflect to clone the existing drive to a SSD of the same size. When I installed the SSD in the machine and booted, I received the folder with a question mark icon. The machine will go in to recovery and see the drive but can't boot from it no matter what I do.
From my research I figured that this was the HDD cable, apparently some 2012 machines would only have SATA2 rated cables, but this seems not to be the case. I have another 13in (late 2011) which has already been SSD swapped, so I took the SSD out of that one and tried putting it in the 2012. It boots from that SSD just fine.
Then I tried to put the questionable SSD in to the 2011 machine, and it booted from it just fine. However the 2011 machine won't boot from the mechanical hard drive that was in the 2012, giving the circle with a slash icon.
I am super confused at this point and was hoping anyone here might know whats going on.

I'm pretty confused with this too.
because initially I thought that the broblema would have been a corruption done to transfer the data and thus failing the file format
there must be something with the format of the mechanical disk that was copied

The format as in GPT/MBR or something like that? Or do you mean filesystem?
por centizen24
it was about format itself
