I’m thinking about making an upgrade to my Macbook, by replacing the logic board for another of the same year and model, but with a discrete GPU.
I imagine that i’ll have to replace the heat pipe aswell. Is there any other thing that I must take in account or is it impossible?

There shouldn’t be any issue switching logic board. As long as it is the same year and size you will be fine. You will want to get one with a heat sink or purchase it separately.

But I'll only know the size once I buy the new one... I'v already looked at the pictures of both, and seems similar but I can't guarantee
at least the mounting points seem the same.... but the battery connector seems different... probably will need a new battery pack
As far as size I am referencing the macbook model not logic board. You can put a mid 2014 15" macbook pro logic board of any type into a mid 2014 15" macbook pro. the battery will be the same, as will the mounting points. Manufacturers, especially apple, wouldn't make different cases for each logic board.
That's right, sometimes they replace just a couple connectors so as to make life more interesting in their view ;)
