Wii has green light but solid grey screen, and no sound

So I just got my friends wii and it doesn’t have sound, it just gives a grey screen . It shows a green power light, but gives a solid grey screen. Ive been using the Audio video plug, instead of the component plug. Also the grey screen is the same color as the health startup screen. can anyone help?! Thanks! ;)
