My laptop's keyboard is stopped working

I suggest you immediately unplug it and take out the battery. Any current flowing through liquid spillage is likely to cause corrosion and possibly irreversible damage. Then remove the keyboard. You don’t say what model Ideapad it is but it’s fairly simple for most laptops. You should be able to find a disassembly guide or video online. Mop up any further spillage you can see.

If it looks like the spillage has penetrated any further then further disassembly will be required, but don’t worry, it isn’t hard. First of all, mop it up, and as soon as you can get some, clean up any residue with isopropyl alcohol.

It sounds like you’ll probably need a new keyboard. Often these are relatively inexpensive on eBay. Just make sure you get one for your precise model, and the right language option. But flushing your existing one with isopropyl alcohol then leaving to dry for an extended period may do the trick.

Meanwhile, if you need your data, get a SATA to USB adapter (quite cheap on eBay), which will allow you to plug your hard drive into another computer.
