iPhone screen dark and discolored after applying Goo Gone to the back

I may have just done something very stupid and damaging, which I should have been more careful with and researched before doing.

I bought this iPhone secondhand, and it came with this giant ugly Schosche magnet on the back for using the phone in the car. I finally decided to remove it today with some Goo Gone (it at least did a wonderful job of getting all the adhesive off and not damaging the backside). I probably used a bit too much, and spilled more than I intended on the phone a couple times. Once I was done, I wiped and dried off the phone, and then wiped it down with some isopropyl alcohol and dried that, and sprayed the ports, speakers, and buttons with compressed air to remove any excess liquid. When I turned the phone back on, the display looked like it had very severe liquid damage, with splotches and a very bad blue/purple tint, and very little brightness. The touchscreen seems to be mostly okay, but it definitely doesn’t seem to be working normally. I’m leaving it turned off now, but did I just ruin my display? I didn’t consider that the excess liquid would be able to seep through the display and get inside the phone, but thinking back it seems pretty possible. Is there any hope of bringing it back to normal if I open up the phone and dry it and air it out? There probably isn’t, but I want to post and ask this, to warn anyone else who might try to do this in the future. Thanks. (At least SE displays are pretty cheap.)

Sorry pal, but I think you might have ruined your display. I did my homework and found this forum post about it. Goo Gone does not play nicely with displays supposeably

Hah thanks. I just opened up the phone and some definitely seeped inside, at least around the headphone port and main speaker. Oops. Definitely should have looked up whether it was okay to put a weird liquid on a sensitive electronic device.

@ezra No problem, always glad to help out when I can. If you bought AppleCare when you got your iPhone you might actually be able to repair it which would be less expensive then getting a new phone.

Nope, don't have any AppleCare. It still would turn on fine, so I think I'll let it air out for a few hours (maybe more), and maybe remove a few components to dry it better, and then just use it with the bad screen until I fix it.
