MacBook Air can't read SD card?

I tried inserting an SD card after recording a ton of travel videos and photos from the Canon G7X Powershot II, to find the “The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.” I received this error with multiple SD cards, and after erasing and reformatting one of them (as per an internet suggestion), the card now won’t work on my camera.

I’m hoping to get my card to work on my laptop, as I really don’t want to lose the content I recorded.

Please help, thanks!

Sadly, the SD card slot connector is part of the main logic board. You may want to take the logic board out so you can properly inspect the card contacts inside you may have some dirt or a bent pin. Here’s the IFIXIT guide you’ll need to follow: MacBook Air 13" Early 2015 Logic Board Replacement

You can get information about the interface hardware and the media that you inserted in the slot from the System Information if in case there is an issue with the card:

Choose Apple menu > About This Mac.

Click System Report.

In the Hardware section of System Information, select USB.

In the list of USB devices, select Internal Memory Card Reader to access information about the interface hardware and the media inserted into the SD card slot.

Try to do below fixes from your end:

1. Try to plug in different drive or SD card and see if it appears in finder

2. Check the file system format of your SD card.

3. Repair your unreadable SD Card using Disk Utility built0in application First Aid

4. If nothing works, try to recover your data from the SD card as you are left with no choice.
