Didn't change thermal paste in 6 years. And doesn't read games.

So I was tired of my pc and ps4 and went back to the original - The PS3 Slim 20xx But as soon as I booted it up it wasn't ready cd's and immediately overheats, the fan works fine and I did some modification to the PS3 Slim case for better airflow (Worked as a charm) So it obviously was the thermal paste I got some paste and I think I have all the tools -( PH = Philips F = Flathead PZ = PZ T = Torx) PH1 PH2 PH3 F4 F6 F7 PZ1 PZ2 T20 T25 do I have everything? And I ran into a problem while opening it I was going to take the power supply out but 1 of the screws holding it got stripped. Any ideas?

If you have room, try to place some pressure on the side of the screw as you attempt to unscrew it. Ideally, if you can get under the screw with a small knife blade to apply some upward pressure, the screw should start to come out.

Once removed, open up the rest of the unit and apply the thermal compound to the CPU chip. That should resolve the heat problem. Try the unit after this and report back if there are other issues.
