Why won't my laptop turn on?

Hello everyone,

yesterday I was updating my macbook as I was prompted to and midway throughout the process, the system turned off and now I can't even turn it on. I've tried resetting the SMC and tried other methods of holding the power button down for up to a minute.

None of this seems to work.

I have an appointment scheduled with apple, however is there anything else I should try?

I'm really hoping it's not a logic board replacement because I don't wanna be out of $1000+.
