Screen Working, But Backlight broken

Dear all,

Variations of this have been posted earlier, but without conclusive results to me.

My computer is on and working, however the backlight appears to be broken as is the Apple logo on the backside of the screen.

It resembles the brightness when it is on the lowest level. When I use a flashlight, I can slowly navigate through the desktop.

When pressing F2, I see on the desktop that the brightness is intended to increase (this image appears with the current brightness level) but the brightness does not actually increase.

I tried NRAM/PRAM resets, but it didn't work. Is it possible to tell with certainty, which part is causing the problem?

To be clear your comment on pressing the keyboard's F2 you see the representation of the brightness increase or decrease (Icon with the bar's). This is the display portion of the backlight control circuit and not the backlight its self and is an expected response when the backlights fuse and/or backlight driver has failed.

You'll need to test things using an external monitor via the mini DisplayPort connected display. There you'll see the same action and the external display should be working.

Can you tell us some background on when the displays backlight failed.

I am also facing same problem. Screen is working as i can see things by flashing through apple logo.

I am using early 2013 MacBook pro retina 13 inches.

I saw some flickering of backlight when I tried certain angles initially but that also stoped.

Then I opened my system up to removing the screen.opened lvds cable and cleaned backlight wire.

It's didn't worked for few minutes. But after few minutes backlight came on and I used it for 2 days without any issue. But again it went off today.

I am able to figure what can be problem
