I changed the DC port on the motherboard (I do have power at the conector on the board) the computer will not power up or charge no lights at all. I even bought new power cord assemby still no luck. What could be the problem?

Yes it worked before and no spillage of any kind, never been dropped. Yes there is continuity between the jack and traces. Thier is also voltage at those areas. It work for about 1 minute after it was put in but no more after that.

Was it working fine last time on battery? If yes then your DC jack is defiantly not connected properly and you need to make sure that whether all connections are soldered or in case of jumper everything is connected properly or not. For safe side use a voltmeter to check your power supply voltage.

Please tell us more about this. Have you ever seen it work? Has it been dropped, spilled upon by liquid? Did you run a continuity test between the jack and the traces on the motherboard?
