My ps4 randomly turned off and had no reason to. I tried to get back on it on it didn't. it was checking the storage and beeped then the light turned red and shut off. I tried it the next morning and I got it to work. It was rebuilding the database and I think it finished. Right after that, the light went red and it said the overheating message and instantly turned off. I don't know whats wrong.

This indicates your PS4 has overheated. This could be narrowed down to a number of problems.
Fan failure
Hardware failure
Possible bad motherboard connection to the fan
Immense dust collection inside the PS4
Blocked vents.
Sony advises to send it in after this type of error. Though if you want to save money, you can find a fix on here. Remember when fixing to take your time.

Note: Opening up your PS4 will VOID VOID VOID VOID VOID your warranty, though I find warranty unfair.
Personally I use a GPU reflow machine for the APU chip on the logic board to fix these PS4s with overheating issue after confirming that the power supply is not at fault, in this case for OP they know it's overheating issue.
Cheap fix is washer but funnily enough I've seen some PS4s last 3 years even with just the washer trick.
I just found out that my brother got are dad to buy a new one. Thanks for your help and I will keep your help in mind.

There may be something wrong with your fans and hard drive. Clear your vents, and try again.
