Nikon Coolpix P-530 not focusing in either Auto or Manual modes

The lens is making a catching/grinding sound when it tries to focus and can't seem focus in any mode (Manual or Auto). It was working fine one day, then the next I noticed this problem. I charged it fully to check if the low power was causing it. Not it. Then I thought maybe something got inside (ie: dust or fine sand?) and was causing the problem? I tried Manual mode and even though I can see it focused at some points on the screen, the photos are still blurry and distorted. The camera is only a couple years old, so anyone who's see this or fixed it, please help! Thank you.
