Non-bending iPhone 6 Plus housing

So, I received an iPhone 6 Plus for free. It was bent and has touch disease.

I replaced its housing. It was nice, but after a week, I noticed its bend again.

So I was thinking, do you know of any housing which is stronger and won't bend, just like the 6S Plus one?

Or would this https://www.dhgate.com/product/for-iphon... (iPhone 8 Plus-like glass housing for 6 Plus) be stronger and would usual cases fit in it?

Thanks!

PS: Is there any way to fix touch disease without heat gun? I have soldering iron and solder, (I know I won't use the solder =)) sometimes bottom-right part of the screen doesn't work, I just need to lock and unlock the phone and it's ok. Putting something on the touch IC helps a lot but it's still annoying.

Thanks again!

A bent phone is often caused by sitting on it when placing it in your back pocket. Basically the phone forms to your body when wearing tight jeans.

There is no 3rd party housing or extra case which can overcome the physics of over stressing the phone.

The only permanent fix is to remove the Meson IC, make a micro-jumper on the M1 pad and then reball and re-solder the Meson IC. This is not a DIY repair by any means and don't even think about it if all you have is a soldering iron.

Anything else is no more than a band-aid.

As for the housing, I couldn't say. The inherent design of the 6P is that it's structurally weak. I don't know if any aftermarket housings are any better.

Hello Petr,

Apple strenghtenned the iPhone 6S by both making the weak points thicker and also switching to a stronger 7000 Series aluminum compared to the 6000 Series aluminum it has been using in the iPhone 6. I know nothing of metallurgy, but I would assume the newer alloy is more expensive.

Presumably every aftermarket housing in the world is produced in China by factories who sell primarily to refurbishers. Refurbishers are always looking to rehab a phone in the cheapest way possible. They have little interest in making the phone on par with its original specs, let alone stronger than the original. So due to demand, I don't believe you will ever find a better housing.

Your best bet is to always use a rigid protective case. Test the flexibility of the case with no phone installed. The more rigid, the better.
