@badmomma there really is no reset. You need to unplug it and hold down the power button while it is unplugged. Do that for about a minute then leave it unplugged for another few (5-10) minutes. Then plug it back in. Your error sounds like a power issue (possibly failed power board, bad fuse etc.). You need to let us know if any of the LED's light up when you plug it in and/or turn it on. If there is not, you'll have to remove the back from your tV (unplugged of course) and take a look at the boards. Look but don't touch yet. Post some good pictures of all of your boards etc. with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.

I have the same model RCA TV no power either remote or manual. Where is the fuse located in this TV?

por

rmurphy430 you would need to follow the same what as suggested in the original answer. If you don't show us your boards, we can't show you the fuse.

What if the red light in the front comes on?

por

But the tv still doesn’t

por

Lauren Roseman that could be casued by multiple isues. Bad main board, bad power board, bad panel etc. We would need to know make and model of your TV and would need you to check a few things to narrow it down. You are our eyes and hands on here.

Hey same problem same TV all I do is press power. Unplug and replug power cord and wait. Sometimes it will turn on after 10 secs sometimes I have to hit power button again. Sounds weird I know but seriously try it. Idk what the defect is caused by but it's a real thing with the rca model. Also if u try my method and it doesn't work u have a bad board and need repair

Nick Bailey. Zed Cartwright here. I found if I turned on set the power on standby light would usually go off and set not turn on. Then unplug the set for a couple seconds and then plug back in and get a power light. Turn on set again and light goes out but set does not come on. Do this half a dozen times or up to a dozen times and eventually the set will power up and play great until it is turned off. I believe there is a power relay that is sticking so when power is hit the light goes out but the relay does not send the signal to the boards. I see that the wires coming in from the power buttons go directly to the main board. So I figured the problem whether a relay or something else is likely in the main board. I found a used main board on ebay for $38. I offered and bought it for $28. The set now comes on like it should every time. Hope this helps you and others.

Mine was doing this for a couple of days. I found this site today. I unplugged & plugged the tv back in, it worked fine till last night. It suddenly powered off, I unplugged & plugged it back in. The red power light came on,I waited a few seconds then turn it on. It suddenly powered off and I have not been able to get it to come back on... I just want to know which board to replace...

Chops-Zed here- I have a 55" Vizio that did what yours is doing in that it came on occasionally and then would not power up anymore. It was a bad power board. Likely a faulty capacitor. Replaced PB 6 months ago still playing great. Check the fuse in the board for continuity, and look for any bulged capacitors or burned parts. Of course it may be bad but not visible. A professional Samsung repairman said with most Samsungs, and I would suspect others also, that you unplug the wires cable from the power board to the main board and then plug in the AC power cord. If back lights come on your problem is the main board. If no back lights it is the power supply board.

Chops- forgot to say if you have a power button standby light but it does not power on it is usually the main board, but not always as I just ordered a main board for a Dynex that had standby light. It did not solve the problem. It was the power board. There is a parts company that ships free and if your part does not solve your problem they will accept the return and email you a return postage label to send it back postage free and no restocking fee. They are on Ebay and Amazon but you save 5% if you order straight from them. ElectroPartsonline.com. Phone 310-971-9249. They also give free diagnostics advice. Tell them your problem and they will help figure it out. Tell Darlene that Zed Cartwright recommended them. I just returned a main board. Nothing wrong with their board. It was not my problem. It was the PB.

Thanks for the info...so many places don't even want to talk to you without charging a fee, that is except for telemarketers, you can't shut them up, lol

A problem as indicated would lead me to check all the electrolytic capacitors on the power board. It can’t be a fuse or other hard failure as that would not allow it to come on at any time. It the large capacirots (some small) have a convex to, replace it. The must be convex or flat. They may also show signs of leakage on the bottom.

For me my problem was having things plugged into the HDMI port. TV will not turn on for setup if there are things plugged in, so make sure everything but the power cable is unplugged until it tells you to connect your devices during the setup. Hope this helps!

Rachel is a lucky one. I never had anything plugged into mine, except the power cord, and it would not turn on. This problem is RCA's MANUFACTURING DEFECT(!!!) and they know it! Look up other customers' comments and you will find HUNDREDS(!) of comments about the EXACT SAME PROBLEM (ALL & ONLY being RCA's tvs!). When the tv is still under warranty, and you contact RCA, they tell you "unplug it, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in & it will work, AND IT WOULD. When the warranty expires, call RCA & they'll tell you "SORRY, THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO!" (But the warranty won't replace it!). This should be a LEGAL CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST RCA, especially since they are STILL making & selling them THIS WAY!!!)
