What does this cable connect to?

Here is an additional photo, maybe this will help.

Apparently I cut the cable to the left of the tear camera while taking off the display. I can't determine what it connects to. Can you tell me what it goes to and can I buy a part to fix it?

Perhaps @refectio might know.

Jayeff, I added a couple of photos, can you help me determine what I cut, and how to fix it? Or @refectio

This is a cellular model, likely cellular/GPS antenna or capacitive prox censor. The picture is not clear enough to tell for sure.

Tom, I added a photo does that help you explain it?

Looks like prox sensor cable, not important. You can fix this by replacing the top right antenna assembly.

I agree with Tom Chai, I believe this is for the Cellular module.

I did a lot of planning before I got my own iPad, and a cellular feature was one option I didn't want to pay for.

Considering some of the parts I have seen in some laptops and phones, this looks like it could be a cellular module

How can I fix the cut cable?

por

I can't tell what kind of cable it is. basically if you know how many wires you can just swap them out. they look pretty small, so you may want to go 28 awg or at least 24 awg (smaller is actually bigger) but it also depends where the wires connect to (are you missing the cellular module?) These may even be antennas for the wifi module, which are suppose to be cut and connect to nothing.

Common things to check for is to see if the it works (power button cable?) turn it on and off if you can. see if the camera and wifi work. if you could do an investigative video, showing of the wire, and then slowly moving the camera over the area so that we could look for any common connection points, we may be able to spot something that looks odd. Mainly looking for another wire or broken solder joint. You should be able to fix this with a knife to strip the wire some more, and a soldering iron if you have one.
