iPhone recognized by Itunes, but shows black screen

So I'm fixing an Iphone that got dropped in water. The liquid indicators are red, but I didn't see much corrosion on the logic board after taking it out and giving it a good alcohol bath.

I ended up replacing both the battery and the screen just trying to get this thing to work. Well I decided to plug the phone into my computer and sure enough Itunes recognized it and said it was in recovery mode.

Now upon trying to restore the phone (I'm not worried about the data on it, just want to get it working again) it gives me an error saying it's unable to restore the phone.

I'm just hoping maybe someone out there sees something I may have missed or that I could try before I give up hope on the phone.

Also I might add that it only shows the ECID and not the serial number while it 's plugged in.

Did you remove the shields on the logic board? Even though you didn't see much corrosion, if the shields were not removed, you don't really know. Additionally, it only takes a tiny amount of water to seep beneath IC's to cause all kinds of issues.

On the surface, your phone seems to have sustained minimal damage. That's good...but there could be latent issues down the road. As @djdannyrock suggest, the phone could be in recovery mode but it may also have a logic board issue that needs to be looked at by a micro-solderer.

I was writing a long anser for you but happened to delete it..

Check as the one above said.

IPhone 6s plus seems to have alot of problem with the nand when dropped and then they seem dead but can be found in iTunes in dfu mode.

They often get error 4005 when restoring if that's the problem, but as I have read they can successfully restore to. I got one of those at home that seems dead after a drop but no water damage and found in dfu mode and successfully restored buy no image. Screen is ok, i will check the nand on that one.

There's alot of Ytube videos of that problem
