Hey I have an iMac that has windows on it and it needs an advisor password on it and I don't know it at all just my step dad gave it to me as he knew I have a lot of experience with these but I'm not sure and I want to know how to reset it without advisor password because came prompt won't work nor repair computer through f11 and I need help

I am not familiar with the term advisor password. What exactly do you see when the machine boots up. Where did the machine come from? Did it belong to your step dad?

Well when I boot it up the mac sound plays then it's just windows 8 loading up and it's my step dads ex wives work computer that I can't reset
I'd try to just report the drive from an external USB boot drive. For all we know it might be iCloud locked.

First try booting up and holding down the option key and see if a Mac system comes up.

Are you able to get your system to boot up under MacOS?

Please tell us what Mac OS X and what Windows OS you are using. It might also help to know which machine you have.

Well the exact machine I'm not sure and also I can't get it to run Mac OS X I hold option while booting and a password comes up and no matter what else it's windows 8 and it's a work computer so every step there is to reset it won't work

Look for an Axxx and an EMC number on the bottom of the stand.
