Cooling Fan running constantly/not detected by Fan Control Apps

I have an older unibody 2008 Macbook with a fan running fast and constant. Initially the battery died completely and this somehow prevented any boot up for the computer, dead battery installed, or removed. I bypassed this by holding the power button down while attaching the magsafe, released the power button, pressed it again, and it booted up. Except the fan was full RPM and constant.

So far I've reset the SMC, PRAM, checked all connections, and even installed some fan control apps, but they don't even recognize the fan at all. Using Activity Monitor, I've detected no stress on any part of the system. The mac was factory reset before it the battery issue arose.

Hoping it's not a problem with the logic board, maybe a new fan?

Thanks

Well... this is a bit concerning... here's the screen shot. I installed the trial on both this macbook and my newer one, I get the readings on the new mac, but the old one with the issue has no data at all.

Lets try this so we can see what the sensors are telling us: TG Pro. Take a screenshot of the main screen (full window) so we can see whats up paste it in a fresh answer.

Sounds like your PRAM battery needs to be replaced. To double check disconnect your system from WiFi and if you are connected via Ethernet disconnect it as well (no network access at all). Then going Date & Time and set it for manual and shut the system down. Now pull your main battery wait a good 5 minutes put it back in and restart your system look at the Data & Time it will be off if the PRAM battery is dead.

Here's what you'll need to do to get to it: MacBook Core 2 Duo PRAM Battery Replacement and here's the battery: MacBook PRAM Battery - Apple P/N 922-7369
