Why my Led TV screen is flickering and goes to stand by wth red light?

Hi,

I bought Panasonic Viera TH-L50B6D Led TV 3 years ago. Last night when I turned it on the screen started flickering (like quickly turning on and off but I could still see the HDMi header on top left). It did that for 9-10 seconds and then went to stand by with red light blinking (I counted to 20 times but it was still going).

I read a solution on ifixit to blow hair dryer on it's vents and I did that which turned it on for 1hr approx then same problem continued.

Weather is moist here now a days and Tech support tells me that has entered the panel which needs to replaced. Panel costs around 60% cost of TV.

Please help!
