Looking for Apple blade PCIe SSD. Want to purchase & where to buy
iMac 27 inch 5k late 2015 model 17.1
I am looking at doing a full tear down of my late 27 inch 5 k iMac to replace the SSD on the motherboard ( from what i can tell its a 4 lane PCIe based)
I want to replace this rather than the SATA HDD (with a SATA SSD)
I see there are some originals (Apple) available on eBayhere:
- NEW Apple Samsung 1TB PCIe SSD for MacBook Pro, iMac MacPro Late 2013-2015 SSUBX
- NEW Apple Samsung 1TB PCIe SSD for MacBook Pro, iMac MacPro Late 2013-2015 SSUBX
They are expensive but can i remove the 24 GB flash and replace with above? Are they compatible?
thx

Is the PCI e SSD for the macbook pro 2013-2015 the same as for my imac?
I have seen some posts in this regard on here
Do you know of anyone that has successfully replaced this 24 G SSD part of fusion drive with 1 T one?
thx again for your help

I've done the older 2012 & 2013 models which uses a very different blade SSD.
They use a SATAe (AHCI) unlike the newer 2014 onwards which use a PCIe (NVMe). While the connections look the same they are different! And Apple uses different OS drivers between them.
