After water damage problems

Hi, I think I have a different question to the previous ones. My had water damage but after drying out on airing cupboard for 2 days I switched on and all is working fine BUT it wont allow me to insert the charging plug into the phone anymore, only halfway and seems like resistance stopping inserting plug all the way. The phone is still under warranty but because water damage may not repair free... As I said everything else on the phone is working but my charge is now on 16% and I cannot charge..... Any ideas anyone... appreciated, thanks

Get a small needle the clean out the charge port, see if any dust or dirt is in there. If not and it still won't go in, you will have to replace the charge port.

Thanks for the info... As it was my daughter's phone and she hadn't told me she had put it in rice packet over one night I didn't bother to take a good look into the charging port so when I put a torch light in I could see small piece of rice which was the problem. thanks allll.....

@gigabit87898 is right. Pretty common for things to get into the charging port on these devices. Be very careful sticking anything into the charging port to clean it. There are 8 pins on the bottom that can get easily damaged. Best to use a tooth pick, only use a metal pick if you know where the prongs are and can avoid them. Use a flashlight to help you see what is in there. Can be lint, can be debris, can be rice (if you used that but not recommend for water damage as it speeds up corrosion process). Do these things and your phone will be up and running in no time. If you need to replace the port after cleaning, here is the link for repair and part.

As I said everything else on the phone is working but my charge is now on 16% and I cannot charge @hotmail login
