It also has a short battery life. And also now it won't even turn on when hooked to my computer or even charge. Need Help!

Tristan, your VERY FIRST course of action is to just replace the battery. Just the battery. This is an easy repair. You can get the parts here for $15, and it comes with the opening tools.
Once you have replaced the battery, if it does not fix the problem, we can go from there. Knock out the tangibles first.
It's pretty clear from your description that there's an electrical short. A bad hard drive would be less likely to magically lose its information.

the battery and tools you can buy off this site as well as a verified high status ebay seller. You can get if off of ebay with the tools for less than 10.00 USD. The harddrive, u might be able to get off of here or ebay. i have a couple of sellers that i use if u need them

well tristan , it seems you have a conundrum. Sounds like there you need a replacement battery as well as a new harddrive. Sounds as if you dropped your ipod a couple of times. You can buy this for like 30-40 USD on ebay.But first, you wanna get a new battery and install it. If your ipod still doesn turn on, it will be your logic board. I hope this has helped you. Not drop, i had it hooked to my Sony CD player in my truck and was using it to control the iPod.... Bad choice! That i think killed my battery. Not turning on is a new one. Well where is a good place to get these from and what are safe? I found a web site that was selling the battery and tools for like $25. I will worry about installing later, which iam sure ill have questions.

Well i will take all the help i can get. I much rather use some one that someone knows of and uses often to purchase from. Just let me know who they are and i will be contacting them asap. I thank you very much for the info, my iPod has out of order sometime and just cant swing a new purchase price right now.

I GOT MINE ON EBAY 50$ AND IT COSTED 3 20MORE FOR A CHARGR NOO NOO BUY THE FIVE DOLLAR MULTI CHARGER WORKS FINE AND I WOULD SUGGEST BRINGING IT TO A SHOP AND HAGLE THE PRICE IF IT IS WORTH IT <>/? good luck
