won't suck disks in
A month ago my 1 year old and 3 year old were left alone with my Playstation 3 and they had my 1 year old had my RDR disk in his hand... which was in the drive and they were in the process of trying to shove a coaster in. It was a fat coaster so it wasn't working but I don't know If they shoved anything else in there or tried to push the disk in as it was trying to eject it or what. But I don't use the optical disk that much so I didn't think to check it. I have turned it on a few times since then and haven't noticed anything wrong.
Last night we went to watch a movie and I put in a disk and it sounded a little funny going in but it went in and it was not working (at the time I blamed the scratched library disk). I wiped it off and tried to put it in again but now the function to suck the disk in wasn't working at all. I tried to push it in part of the way and it will slide with moderate resistance but I didn't go more than 80 percent of the way in.
At this point when I start it up it sounds like its trying to eject a disk and it struggles for a good 10 seconds and then stops, still doesn't work. I tried to have the disk halfway in when I start it up in the hopes it may suck it in but it doesn't. I hold the eject button for 10 seconds or so and it sounds like it is trying to eject but its not.
Three questions:
- Does this sound like a gear issue or something was shoved in there, any testing I can do to tell?
- Anything else I can try to get this to work before opening it up?
- I happen to have an old playstation 3 fat with a bad motherboard, are the blu-ray drives the same for both or could I somehow retrofit the PS3 fat drive into my slim?
Esta é uma boa pergunta?
