1 Charging port won't charge batteries
I plug in the mod to the charger and it won't charge the batteries. I think it's the charging piece, but I don't know what to do.

I just got the Alien mod yesterday and can't charge on my wall plug block either. I have been reading everything I can find and I think the answer is actually simple. You just aren't getting enough power through the wall block. Example is as follows:
Wall block output on mine = 1 volt at a max of 1 amp.
Standard USB port = 5 volt at a max of 1.5 amps
My batteries are 3.7 volts at a max of 35 amps. 1 volt is so low that it just won't power the battery. I would suggest going to your local dollar store and buy a wall plug that puts out a minimum of 3 volts, 1000ma. Should cost you about $1 plus tax and they usually keep them at the cash register or in the cables section depending on the size of the store.

Just an update. I have tried this now and The problem is solved. My block was so under powered that it actually fried trying to charge the Alien. I went to Best Buy and got a good Belkin one for 13.99 and it charged from absolute zero to 100% in 4.5 hours. Vape on it for a full day and still had about 55% battery power left.

This worked!!!! Husband was freaking out couldn’t vape for 4 hours!!!! Look at the block and the volts!!!!
I had two of them Alien mods and both of them the metal piece, that u plug charge cable in, fell out

Get an external charger. Although it won't fix the port, but at least you will be able to vape. Get extra batteries too.

I was having the same problem of my batteries not fully charging. Well I have just tested an idea. When the alien times out it quits charging but if you light up the screen again it starts charging again. My batteries have went from 50% to 73% I now have them up to 96% but I have to keep turning it BK on. So I changed my screen time to a longer time and it charges longer. So you might try that. It is working for me.
I think that may be it just updating the battery volume from the last time the screen was lit. I have 2 aliens and a smok gpriv that does the same thing
@danastrader I tried your idea and it works. Seems the screen with the A and B batteries is just a lock screen or something. I changed my screen time to 220sec and the batteries are now charging. Just need to click to get out of timeout screen in order for charging to start back up Thanks!!!

Anyone else having this issue and the above solutions aren't working (besides the external charger of course which is the only easy fix) here is some info for reference. The charge port itself is soldered on the backside of the mother board and comes through a hole in the mother board and requires microsoldering to fix or replace the charge port, also covers are also lightly soldered onto the motherboard easily break if moved around. I added photos for reference (charge port cover has already been broken off in close up pics). Sorry since it's not really a solution

Mine just won't charge on the charger I have it plugged into a multi outlet center but everything else works just it's not charging

Your are not supposed to charge the alien through the USB port, the port should be used for firmware updates only. You need a external battery charger made for lithium batteries nite core and efest make inexpensive but reliable chargers. Charging any mod through the usb that takes more than 1 battery is dangerous.

My Smok Qt box won't charge it's staying on 0% and will turn on but no charge says low battery and if I unplug it completely turns off
Mine just started to say that on!y one battery is charged when I do use a charged and have back up batteries. I don't understand y this is happening. Oh I have a smoke 220 and this is the second one that I have bought.guess what not again will I buy one. Does anyone know what I can do about this?

have the same problem; one battery 100% the other 0% placed other batteries same problem. It's a piece of junk lasted 2 days; bought it on eBay so I should get my money back and maybe the mod because seller not responding. This is the third mod that didn'the last more than a week the smaller built in battery mod last longer but once the battery dies it goes to the trash except the tank.
My vape has been dead for over 2 weeks how long do I have to leave it plugged up before it shows me that it's charging

I don't believe the micro USB on the alien supports charging dual 18650 batteries. Voltage is too small, the port provides ability to update the software only.

Will it tell you if it's charging
Why in the world would the designers of the firmware waste their time creating not one but TWO animations indicating that the installed batteries are charging (thru USB, no other way for electrons to find their way to the batteries.) ???
While on the topic of firmware, however, I feel like I should point out to everyone in this thread that unauthorized Chinese clones ABOUND on the intertubes. Some are extremely convincing, and you will only know when you try to scan the QR code which Smok requires in order to authenticate for support services. My device is a clone, and I've been using it for a year, but results will vary.

Got mine today, I have the prince stick mod, it charges for about 10-15 seconds then stops, i haven’t even hit it once, I’ve tried to plug the charger into many different outlets but nothing works I spend almost $50 dollars, and had to buy another one online but still does the same thing, what do I do..
well... its great this thing cant charge through USB... super awesome especially since earlier versions could

I just got the same charger thru the mail yesterday, now my alien works perfectly !
Omg my nice new ecigs' port just got screwed up more since I fiddled about with it with my pocket knife now I'm stuck with vuse wtf I have to get to shop tomorrow.

I ran into this too, but most everyone above is right on the money. It technically can charge through the port and is even advertied for it, but they all eventually fry. Using an external battery charger should fix most of what you guys are working on. Seems stupid to include a port like that with no warning. I have a nitecore charger and no complaints so far, hope this helps

I also have the 220 watt smok alien I didn't know til reading this the port is firmware only I have the Dogi charger d2 the USB port was only charging one battery this digi charger showede one battery was full the second one was near dead (was on ly charging up to about 55℅ will definitely be using this from now on just now thinking how to keep it flowing so I can cape without a great lapse in time.. Aliens suck lol
I just purchased a Smok X-priv. Day one it charged fine of the usb and my computer. The next day when the batteries were drained, I plugged it in and nothing. It wouldn’t charge. Found this site, and upon reading figures I’d have to buy an external charger. Then I tried my iPhone charger, still it wouldn’t charge. I then pulled the batteries, and without turning the MOD on. I again plugged it into the iPhone charger, and it started charging. I have charged it like this twice now. Letting it charge over night. Hope this helps someone else.

Have always purchased another higher wattage 2port charger that's similar to my cellphones, to bring to work & I've had a couple charging smok vapes issues in last 4-5 years....& when I moved the USB corded part to the other charger insert, Smok started charging instantly & I noticed plug outlet turned from blue to green.... & new batteries were put in & I did try to swap batt. Spots earlier... Hoping this will fix previous batteries also... Love this forum & everyone taking time offer solutions. (tired of spending so much money on some vapes)...
Ive tried buying brand new batteries and a brand new charger …. Waste of time and money .. And the dumb a$$3$ at the vape stores didnt know what was wrong… they just wanted to make a quick buck!!! Wish i would have seen this i could have saved ALOT of money…. G-whiz batman i feel duped!

Take the screen protector on the LCD for some reason that protects the screen but it causes the problem for charging and secondly if it don’t work after that get electrical contact cleaner and a toothbrush and clean the USB charging port I’ve done that and it fixed

Mine is doing the same thing I've switched the batteries around and eveb tried a different charger and it won't charge.. I just got it not eveb teo weeks ago so I'm highly upset

Think u have a bad device had mine 6 months it worked great it's bad now I'm having to charge my batteries externally because the charge port on my device seems to have come out of the device am annoyed with that
